Global trends on sustainability approaches towards innovative Plantation Production Systems and opportunities for new Business Models – Taking in to the account of challenges from climate change and resource utilization.
Sustainable Plantation Production Systems helps to operates the plantations business processes more ethically and by way of effective utilization of available limited resources. Correlations of this production systems with IBMs (Innovative Business Models) express the change in the way a plantation business operates in order to create positive impacts or to reduce negative consequences for the environment and the society. In terms of Plantations Sustainability/ ESG Framework, the key element missing in all the platforms is the ‘Geosphere’ in E (Environment), where all are debating on the positive/ negative concerns on the biosphere (above ground environment), but both equally significant. This summit platform aims to re-direct of thinking by plantations to see more elaborative/ expanded strategy to address the term, ‘E’ (Environment) in terms of both Geosphere and Biosphere.
